Magnetometry

SQUID-magnetometer: Quantum Design MPMS XL 5

SQUID-magnetometer is the most sensitive method of measuring the magnetic properties of samples. The sample is moved through pick-up coils and the induced current is measured using a Superconducting QUantum Interference Device (SQUID). A SQUID is a superconducting loop with a Josephson junction, which allows measurements down to one flux quantum (2⋅10-15 Wb). Typically magnetometers offer control of magnetic field and temperature in wide range.
