Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy

Bruker Vertex 70 FTIR spectrometer

With the available accessories, a broad range of samples ranging from powders to thin films or even monolayers of adsorbed matter on metal surfaces can be measured in the mid infrared region. With the variable angle external reflection accessory in situ spectroelectrochemical measurements can be conducted.

For more information, contact  Pia Damlin.

Specifications:

  • Polarization Modulation – Infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS).
  • Harrick attenuated total reflection (ATR) and Harrick SeagullTM– variable angle reflectance accessories.
  • Deuterated triglycine sulfate (DTGS) and mercury cadmium telluride (MCT) detector.

Bruker Invenio R FTIR spectrometer

With the PA301 photoacoustic detector, solid samples, such as powders can be analysed directly and non-destructively, without any dilution or pelletization. Necessary sample amounts are also very low. The specular reflectance accessory with a fixed 10° incident angle enables the analysis of thin films and layers. The extension of the FTIR to cover also near-infrared range down to ca. 1 µm wavelenghts (10000 cm-1), enables the analysis of reflector structures with optical features both in NIR and MIR region.

Specifications:

  • Mid-infrared (MIR) and near infrared (NIR) lamps
  • Broadband KBr beamsplitter for 10000 cm-1 – 350 cm-1 range (1 – 28 µm)
  • DTGS and MCT detectors built-in
  • Gasera PA301 photoacoustic detector for solid and semisolid samples
  • Pike MIRacle attenuated total reflectance (ATR) and 10Spec specular reflectance accessories
  • Spectra-Tech Collector diffuse reflectance (DRIFT) accessory
