MARI – Materials Research Infrastructure
MARI connects the materials science at physics, chemistry and mechanical and materials engineering departments to create a platform for sustainable material innovations with industries.
The strong research focus on materials science at the University of Turku, coupled with the recent expansion of the materials engineering education creates a possibility to build up larger infrastructure to support both the scientific and the business community. The purpose of the MARI, Materials Research Infrastructure, is to serve as a platform for collaboration between local industries as well as to strengthen research excellence in the field of materials characterization and aging. We develop new models for industrial collaboration with the intention to serve many different sized companies and raise the awareness related to the newly opened opportunities. MARI also serves as a platform to identify larger strategic research projects that increase the competitiveness of companies and strengthen research excellence with major societal impact
